Who should attend?

 

 

Individuals from statutory, private and voluntary sector organisations who want to increase their understanding of depression and anxiety and / or support and work with people who experience depression and / or anxiety.

 

Aim

 

 

The aim of this training session is to enable participants to increase their understanding of depression and anxiety.  Participants will explore the various causes of these conditions and how they interlink. 

 

Learning Outcomes

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At the end of this training session participants will be able to:-

 

  1. Demonstrate an increased understanding of depression and of anxiety

 

  1. Identify the symptoms that someone suffering from depression and / or anxiety experiences as part of their illness

 

  1. Identify risk and protective factors that can affect someone with a depressive or anxiety related illness

 

  1. Determine ways in which someone who is depressed or experiencing anxiety issues can be supported and worked with effectively
